Dr. Mel Freitag continues to serve historically underrepresented populations in her new role as the Director of Diversity Initiatives in the School of Nursing through mentorship, recruitment, student programs, curriculum initiatives, and faculty/staff professional development. She hopes the students’ and teachers’ voices and stories will shape how and what it means to be a more welcoming and supportive school that continues to invite and embrace unique perspectives.
